In the last couple of days I have seen a few answers along the line of "Since everlasting life awaits me I can let my fellow earthlings drown in their own excrement. I told them I would throw them a rope if they agreed with me, since they don't they must obviously perish".
What really kills me about this is that it seems 'Anti Gospel' to me, in that Christ's command was 'Love God, Love one another". How does this work for people?|||There is no logic. Many people are trying to become better, but don't really see how. Our paths are laid with many traps, that is why we are here, to meet each challange and over come it.
Do not confuse spirituality with religon. Formal religon is becoming obsolete. There are many good people who strive everyday to live in accordance with the Love Commandment.
Love is hard, hate is easy. Have patience.|||and if such people had acquaintances who'd given their children a beautiful house to live in, and their kids trashed it, you know they'd call them ingrates.
so why the inconsistency in their attitude toward treatment of this beautiful planet?|||You are right, Christ's commands were to love your neighbor as yourself, whether they are a believer or not. I am not sure I really understand your question though. Personally, I believe I am going to Heaven because I trust in Christ as my savior, but I also want as many people to not perish as possible. But there is a fine line between showing the love of Christ and telling others the way to eternal life, and being accused of being a fanatic who beats people over the head with a Bible. When it comes down to it, all we as believers can do is share the message of Christ with others. It is their choice to accept Him or not.|||It doesn't, but belief in evolution with no "life to come" does. Survival of the fittest and all that, don't you know.|||It is sad that people are too selfish and set in their mind numbingly stupid ways. they really seem to think it doesn't matter if they sh*t in the drinking water because somebody else can fix it. Christianity tells us that if we obey all of their rules then AFTER we die we can be happy and live eternally in paradise. Why? Because we don't actually know what awaits us and that way we are more likely to just roll over and let ourselves be miserable while we are alive. if we do everything they say and let them control our lives instead of following our true wills, we will be happy later. but if we dont do what they say and live our lives to the fullest then we will burn for eternity. well, since this is the only exsistence I have any real proof or knowledge of, I am going to do as I please. But, as someone who DOES give a f*ck what happens to my line, I find it disgusting that this world, and especially this country, thinks that things will solve themselves so they don't have to do anything to make this world a better place. So, personally, I hope this world does fix itself, and i want to be there to watch it all go down. I can't wait till mother nature decides to flush it all away:)
