How on god's green earth do you actually "get in a car" in gran turismo 2?

i have seriously tried everything i can think of. i'm playing on psx. i've gone to north city, south city, west city, east city, go race, machine test, car wash, whell shop, home, license ... EVERYWHERE, ACTUALLY EVERYWHERE THERE IS TO GO FROM THE MAIN MENU!!!!! everything leads me to "get in a car" ... which, believe me, i would LOVE to do, especially seeing as how this is a car racing game. as far as i can tell i have 10,000 "credits" but no car is that cheap. the cheapest car i've found is 11,000. i'm going to set this thing on fire in a few minutes.|||Have you gone to the used shop yet? Those cars are all cheaper, and are there specifically for you to buy as a first car. There are TONS of them for $5000 or so.
