Hi,
I'm currently looking at doing a 3 machine ticket package through a training provider and was wondering if anybody knew which particular tickets are currently highly sought after by employers?
I have a choice of the following machines:
- Bobcat (Drott/Skid Steer)
- Backhoe
- Excavator
- Front-end Loader
- Bulldozer
- Roller / Compactor
- Grader
- Dump Truck (CAT)(Might be good for mining but have I no experience and no HR license)
- EWP(Elevated work platform)
P.S I'm in Australia.. QLD to be exact.|||I would try to make the 3 most well-rounded choices. I would definitely choose backhoe because it can be used to perform similar tasks as the excavator with the backhoe, and bobcat and front-end loader with its front bucket. It can also do some light bulldozing work. I'd choose the grader because its operation is rather complex. That leaves the compactor, EWP, and the dump truck. I'd choose the dump truck simply because you don't have that experience and would benefit the most from the training. Unless you have to have the HR license first. Then I'd probably choose the work platform because of the critical safety aspect of lifting humans in a work area.|||Here in Michigan, US of A, Skid Steer training, though basic, is rather highly sought after. Especially since skid steer technology has greatly increased in the past decade, and the attachments for them are replacing many other jobs, such as front end loader, forklift operator, etc.
I'm not sure about your area, but here, many companies are looking for CDL (commercial drivers license) which will allow you to drive a large dump truck.
As for a third one, it's pretty much up to you. I'd go for a backhoe training, just to broad out your training skills, but that one is up to you.|||Ring workcover... they'll tell you over the phone.
